A Note from Amanda
The shop doors are open, and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome the honorary matriarch of our community to the blog. Today, Grandma Sue steps out onto the front porch with a warm cup of coffee and a vital reminder for every young mother running on empty: your legacy doesn’t care about a perfect house—it cares about your unyielding spirit.
The Beauty of a Fresh Start
By: Grandma Sue
Oh, Sweet Pea, I was talking to a young mother the other day who looked just plain exhausted. Her house was a bit of a disaster, and she felt like she was failing.
I looked her right in the eye and said, “Honey, the house can be a wreck, but don’t you dare let your spirit be one”.
The Grandma Sue Method for a Bad Day:
- The Lipstick Rule: Go wash your face and put on a classic rose lipstick. You carry on with dignity.
- Write in the Thick of It: Don’t wait until life is perfect to write to that baby. Tell them you’re tired, but tell them they’re worth every sleepless minute.
- Manners Matter: Even when you’re overwhelmed, a handwritten thank-you note is a badge of honor.
You’re doing a much better job than you think you are, Darling. Just keep your sparkle.
Grandma Sue’s favorite stationery set: The Heirloom Memory series.
It’s the classic floral design for a 21st century young lady.
